My newest samples are full of spirogyra, scenedesmus, merismopedia, and
an unidentified filamentous diatom (although I’m betting its melosira) Zygnema..
There’s also a greater amount and variety of cyanobacteria than I have ever seen. I’m thinking of making informative posts on cyanobacteria tomorrow because they are awesome and if it wasn’t for them multicellular life forms and aerobic respiration would have not evolved. Also there are some pretty neat toxins they produce that can cause respiratory arrest, massive internal hemorrhaging, and near-instant death
So yeah, don’t eat cyanobacteria. Study them instead.
